Deborah Laurel

Deborah Spring Laurel is a globally recognized management trainer and trainer of trainers. She has 50 years of experience working with government, universities, international aid organizations, and both nonprofit and for-profit organizations in Croatia, Zambia, Nigeria, Kenya, Equatorial Guinea, Jordan, the United Arab Emirates, Canada, and the United States.

She spent 30 years as an adjunct instructor for the Executive Management Institute of the University of Wisconsin-Madison School of Business. Her company, Laurel and Associates, Ltd., has provided workplace learning and performance improvement consulting and training services since 1986.

She has designed and facilitated hundreds of different skill-building participant-based workshops for managers, employees, and trainers on an international basis. Deborah also conducts audits of training programs to ensure quality and learning effectiveness. Her curriculum design expertise resulted in the highest rated training for the U.S. Department of Energy, in addition to other rewards for the Wisconsin Energy Center.

Deborah taught management and supervisory topics for the Executive Management Institute and the Small Business Development Center in the School of Business at the University of Wisconsin- Madison for thirty years. She has her master’s degree from the University of Wisconsin-Madison. 

Deborah is also a Certified Professional Consultant to Management, with forty-five years of experience in human resource management, organizational development, and performance consulting. 

For 4 years, she consulted with J.J.Strossmeyer University in Osijek, Croatia to design the first Eastern European participant-based Masters Degree program in Entrepreneurship. It has resulted in over 80 new businesses there.

Her articles are published in the 2004 - 2013 Consulting and Training volumes of the Pfeiffer Annuals, The Leadership Challenge Activities Book and 101 More Ways to Make Training Active.
