Abner Benaim

Abner Benaim is a prominent filmmaker known for his work in both documentaries and feature films. He studied International Relations at the University of Pennsylvania and later attended film school in Tel Aviv. Benaim founded Apertura Films in 2004 and has directed acclaimed films such as Chance (2009), Invasion (2014), and Ruben Blades Is Not My Name (2018), which was Panama's submission for the Best Foreign Language Film at the 91st Academy Awards.

Mariel García Spooner

Mariel is a Panamanian filmmaker who studied Film Production at the Escola Superior de Cinema i Audiovisuals de Catalunya (ESCAC) and the University of Barcelona in 2013. In 2015, she received a scholarship from ESCAC to study a Master's in Film Direction. She directed, wrote, and produced her debut feature film, Algo Azul, a romantic comedy starring Colombian actor Carlos Torres.
