A Costa Rican film director, screenwriter, actor, and stand-up comedian. He studied film at the San Francisco Art Institute and Columbia University. His notable works include El regreso (2011), Entonces nosotros (2016), and the Netflix romantic comedy Love Hard (2021).

Nathalie Álvarez Mesén

A Costa Rican-Swedish screenwriter and director. She began her career in stage acting before earning a BFA in mime acting and an MFA in film. Her debut feature film, Clara Sola (2021), premiered at the Cannes Directors' Fortnight and earned her the Guldbagge Award for Best Director and Best Screenplay.

Born in Buenos Aires and raised in Costa Rica, Quirós Ubeda studied at the University of Buenos Aires. Her short film Selva (2017) and debut feature Ceniza Negra (Land of Ashes, 2019) were both screened at the Cannes Film Festival, marking the first time Costa Rican films were featured there.
