Our Approach

The Bookingbox system is based on a subscription model, where clients can add different modules to the basic presentation, this in combination with the creation of high volumes of links to the client presentations in our online travel-guides. This has brought exceptional results in search engines like Google, Yahoo and others. The Bookingbox links showed up often higher in search results than the website of the clients. (Hotels, Restaurants, Tours, Transport, Local Experts)

Our Story

BookingBox Organisation has been helping local artists to develop their skills and to enter the world of online sales , by creating websites & webshops for them , and assisted them in packing and sending the sold items.

Our cultural center in Ayacucho, Peru became a meeting place where locals and volunteers from European countries & North America could meet and organise events.

This was also the place where the first Bookingbox websites came online, with the help of our handy man Jan Kuijt , our web designer Jonathan Canchari Berna and a lot of volunteers.

We started to write reviews about local hotels, restaurants, shops and places worth visiting. We created a list of places we found interesting to present, travelled there with local transport and a very small budget, took pictures, wrote articles, spoke to locals, and presented all this on our website.

During one off our travels we visited Huacachina, an oasis in the Ica desert. Here we found our first paying clients for advertising on our website. Hostal Desert Nights.

We expanded our operations to Cusco, Peru. We rented an office in the South American Explorers building.

Around Cusco we found a lot of places worth presenting on our websites and travel guide. Communities that had ancient ruins, cultural festivals, long forgotten mule trails or amazing landscapes and nature reserves.

We offered these communities help with their online communications, their printed presentations and we advised them about how to manage tourist infrastructure.

Some places had absolute no tourist infrastructure, like guest rooms to rent, restaurants for food and drinks, toilets that would be suitable for tourists or guides that could bring tourists to the places where they could find tourist attractions.

Most of those communities had not yet worked with tourists, so language skills and cultural differences also had to be solved before they could receive customers.

Meet the Team
